Dry Hair
Hair is dry because oil glands in scalp are inactive and they lack moisture. It is also caused by other factors like over exposure to the sun, using harsh shampoo and chemical treatment. Another reason for dry hair is blocking of pores by accumulation of oil on the scalp. Dry hair would need plenty of nourishment.
Hair Types |
It is difficult to control dry hair after shampooing. Looks dull and has ends that are dry and split. Even just before shampooing the ends look dry. The head too feels dry and sometimes itchy. Dry hair breaks of very easily. Sometimes there are dry flakes of skin around the hair line.
Oily Hair
People with oily skin have oily hair generally. This is due to the over secretion of oil. Scalp also gets oily. It often has the problem of dandruff. Oily hair is easily recognizable. Groups of hair cling together in unattractive strands and the head feels dirty.
Oily hair needs to be washed too often. You can wash them daily or every other day. For oily hair, oils and shampoos having henna and neem are very good. It looks greasy even after shampooing and and attracts more dirt.
Normal Hair
This is the most ideal hair. These are shining, neither greasy nor dry. It flies about a little a day after the set but it soon settles down and looks good for about a week.
To maintain this ideal condition a well balanced diet and proper care is necessary.
